
The University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, together with the Department of Banking, Finance and Accounting of the University of Warsaw organised an International Scientific Conference on “Financialization – impact on the economy and society”, which will was held on 4-5 December 2015 in Rzeszów, Poland.
The aim of the conference was to present the problem of financialization and initiate discussion on the subject, to develop the Polish definition of financialisation, define strategic research directions and to promote international studies on the subject. The organiser intended to integrate the various points of view from academia dealing with this issue. Room was made for interdisciplinary discussions, as the conference was addressed to representatives of both socio-economic sciences and the humanities.
The inaugural lecture “Financialization – a multidisciplinary approach” was delivered by prof. Jan Toporowski from SOAS, University of London, FESSUD’s leader of Work Package 6.
