FESSUD co-ordinator Malcolm Sawyer presented outcomes of the FESSUD project on ‘Towards De-financialisation’ at the occasion of the ‘Law and Monetary Theory 2nd Annual Conference: Bank Regulation, Financial Stability & Monetary Law‘, organised by the University of Sheffield, on 8 September 2015.
This presentation drew on Work Packages 2 (Comparative Perspectives on Financial Systems in the EU) and 12 (Synthesis).
The conference brought together leading international academics and practitioners to discuss some of the pressing regulatory and legal issues in relation to banking and financial law, including:
- The role of bank regulation in reducing financial stability risks;
- Financial regulation designed to prevent excessive risk-taking;
- Legal aspects of monetary policy.
