FESSUD researcher, Prof. Michal Jurek, won the prestigious prize of the President of the National Bank of Poland. The prize is allocated every three years to outstanding publications in the field of banking and finance.
Michal Jurek’s book, which is entitled “International monetary system and exchange rate regimes in the process of financial integration”, is a comprehensive study that:
- examines the links between the evolution of the international monetary system and the evolution of exchange rate regimes,
- analyses the basis and rationale for selection of exchange rate regimes in the course of the intensification of the process of financial integration,
- estimates the probability of the use of corner and intermediate exchange rate regimes under certain economic circumstances,
- identifies the effects of these choices for the functioning of the contemporary international monetary system.
